Rainforest Recovery Volunteering Plymouth
The Woodland Trust organise opportunities for you to reach temperate rainforest sites from central Plymouth. Chances to volunteer for the day and learn about what it takes to protect and restore rainforest.
We want people to know temperate rainforest exists in the UK, that it is threatened and feel inspired to do something about it!
We aim to especially reach people aged 18-35 with an interest in conservation, but everyone over 18 is welcome.
We use a WhatsApp to share volunteering opportunities. There is a chat section where links to information and events about temperate rainforest in South Devon could be shared. Any group member may also share rainforest related content and opportunities.

Light
Removing invasive shading plants, and adjusting light levels to create the conditions for native species to establish and thrive.

Water
We want to provide the conditions that will enable species that are missing or in serious decline from the temperate rainforest to return and thrive. They are essential to supporting the health and function of this ecosystem.

Air
Lichens are indicators of good air quality and temperate rainforest habitat. We are surveying all of our woods for lichens.
